Spring Movie Wardrobe Sale
Save the Date!
CAFTCAD is excited to announce the much anticipated Spring Movie Wardrobe Sale for Saturday May 23rd,
(no, it's not the long weekend- we checked!)
As our last 2 successful events, there will be members of CAFTCAD, Costume Industry Businesses and Individuals, and Vintage Dealers selling clothing and items from past productions and other wares to the general public. Clothing, both contemporary and vintage, accessories, fabrics, books, and wardrobe supplies will be offered at this one day event.
PLEASE NOTE that the sale will NOT be taking place at 629 Eastern Ave as it has in the past. The location is still to be confirmed.
Vendor Packs will be sent out in the next few weeks so please let us know if you're interested in participating in this sale.

The Mirvish Bookstore on 596 Markham Street in Toronto is closing it's doors, forever.
Catering to an artistic crowd for over 30 years, the bookstore carried books on the visual arts: art, photography, architecture and design.
Saturday February 28th at 6 p.m is closing time on the last day to shop and visit this landmark in Mirvish Village.
Directions: One block west of Bathurst just south of Bloor Street in Mirvish Village. The Bathurst stop on the Bloor Subway line has an exit onto Markham Street on the north side of Bloor.

CAFTCAD is very proud to present CAFTCADEMY,
A weekend of Film Costume Seminars with subjects to interest all those in the Wardrobe Community.
Friday March 6, Saturday March 7, and Sunday March 8
at Filmport, 225 Commisioners Street, Toronto, Ontario.
Topics include working with a D.O.P, how to make a reel, build and present your portfolio, fundamentals of fitting, aging, researching, budgeting and much more.
Lunch will be provided for those who enroll in the whole weekend or purchase day passes. Single seminars are also available.
With great thanks to Filmport and our talented instructors, we've managed to bring this series in at an amazing first time value to both our members and the community. Prices ranging from $100 for Members for the whole weekend to single seminars starting at $20, this is an amazing and rare opportunity to meet and learn from some of our industry's best.

Friends of Chris Howard
Memorial for Chris Howard, aka 'Howie'
A Memorial service will be held this Saturday, February 7th in honour of our dearly departed friend Chris.
The service will be held at

His sparkling smile will be greatly missed to all those had the joy of knowing him.

Royal Canadian Air Farce is closing up shop...
and selling you the wardrobe, props, and furniture from the show!
At the CBC Building, 205 Wellington St,
Wednesday January 21st and Thursday January 22nd,
from 10 a.m to 3 p.m on the 9th floor, John St. green elevators,
you can purchase various costumes and wardrobe, both modern and theatrical, sizes for women around 2-4 and 14-16, and assortment of men's items including suits for only $20. All Prices are extremely reasonable.
As well Props are for sale on the 10th floor at the John St. Entrance,
and Furniture is on both the B4 Level, blue elevators,
and the 10th floor, green elevators.
Take a piece of Canadiana home with you to place beside your TV set as you watch the show and beam when your new scarf appears on screen!
