For the past 84 years, Toronto’s Hadassah-WIZO Bazaar has been a much anticipated annual shopping extravaganza, where as many as 10,000 shoppers of all ages from Toronto’s multicultural communities come together to hunt for bargains, enjoy ethnic food and participate in a unique city wide event. Now in its final year, the legendary Bazaar will be held on Wednesday, October 29th, 2008.

Amazing Shopping from the Movie Wardrobe Sale
Incredible Thanks to the folks at the Toronto Film Studios for hosting our very sucessful Movie Wardrobe Sale. Even with the damp fall weather over 800 people came through the door this time with some customers making it an all day event- it was a fantastic place to be on Saturday the 25th. As well as the Costuming Community, many others from the Film and Entertainment Industry reuntied and competed for the best savings and grooviest Halloween Costume.

Movie Wardrobe Sale this Weekend!!
CAFTCAD will hold its autumn Movie Wardrobe Sale just in time for Halloween,
on Saturday October 25th from 9-4PM
at the Toronto Film Studios, 629 Eastern Ave at the foot of Pape Ave.
Imagine a film sound stage filled with hundreds of incredible last minute Halloween costume ideas to inspire even the most desperate party guest. Local costume designers, stylists and wardrobe rental houses will be offering up racks and racks of wardrobe from past films shot in Toronto as well as fabric and accessories to create your own unique costume. If you are stuck for ideas ask our designers for help. Put yourself into the hands of a professional, costume designers and stylists will be on hand to assist you with your costume needs.
Not into Halloween? There will also be plenty of great bargains on contemporary and vintage clothing also from local film productions.
Entrance fee of $2 helps CAFTCAD fund its initiatives,
free entry to CAFTCAD members, seniors and children.

The Passing of Vicki "Red" Graef
Sadly, Prominent and well loved Canadian Costume Designer Vicki Graef has passed away from complications of cancer on Wednesday October 15th.

Donationed Goods Needed for ZAMUXOLO Daycare Centre
Wotever Inc., a CAFTCAD Member, is organizing donations for a container of dry goods for the Zamuxolo Daycare and Orphanage in Capetown. The children, infants to 15 years of age, live in a shanty town of Capetown and have nothing and sleep on dirt floors which commonly become mud floors when it rains.
Bridgit Faroo, owner of Wotever says,
"My friend Glenda's sister in South Africa (Nadia) is spearheading this
grassroots fundraiser. Anything given or donated will be going directly to
the children and centre (actually a shack!). Nadia will be making sure that
when the container arrives in Capetown that it will be distributed directly
to the kids and caregivers."
